The Smugglers - Part 1

"Crime doesn't pay." That's what Fenris's mother used to tell him when he was a child in Riverwood. When he moved to Cyrodiil, opportunities weren't easy and joining the local crime syndicate was the best solution. At least, crime paid his mother's debts.

Fenris used to work with the Dunbarrow Gang in the city of Anvil. He was promoted fast and soon he was a very important member of the crew. Things changed because of the envy of one of his accomplices. He was caught trying to smuggle goods across the Hammerfell border. He was quite notorious and the Anvil City Police sent him to the Imperial City to face the court.

That's when his friends, Glenn and Rohan, decided to do something. They ambushed the prisioner transport van on the road to Skingrad and the three escaped across the Valenwood border. They headed south until they reached the city of Dragon Valley. That would be a great place to start a new life.

They bought a small house by the river. The place didn't offer much but it had potencial. Their first day was very busy. The house was a mess!

Trash and rats were everywhere!

"Seriously, a pig must've lived in this place! Look at this!" You could hear Rohan speaking loudly in a very annoyed tone. "We need to check if the sinks are working... what if they flood the house!"

They spent the whole day cleaning and setting up the furniture. At night, they went to the local diner to have something to eat. They were also concerned over their financial situation. They needed some extra cash.

"I bet Fenris can get something cool tonight."

Rohan was very excited to steal from the local Art museum. However, the security system was very high and they decided to try somewhere else.

At least they got 215 simoleons that night.

The following day started with some panic in the kitchen. Glenn forgot the waffles he was preparing in the stove. At least, Fenris and Rohan could help out.

Glenn wasn't good at cooking. Perhaps taking care of a horse would be a better task for him. He adopted their first horse. It was an old mare which was named Artemis. Glenn was her owner, but she was much more friendlier towards Fenris.

That was fun to make a new friend! He missed the horse he left in Cyrodiil... However, he didn't have much time for that. There was work to do that night.

Rohan blessed him with a good luck charm. Their target was the museum and Fenris would have to discover a way to pass their security system.

After stealing a sculpture outside, he headed inside for the paintings.

"Oh, very good!" He could hear Rohan saying. "Why did you steal the light?"

"Watch and learn" Fenris whispers.

He walked toward the next painting and voila! They got two expensive pieces of art and a light.

"Now, I understand" Rohan started talking to him. "You stole the light to be used with the painting you were targeting. That's very sweet. But we need to buy beds. Let's sell both, shall we?"

That was a profitable night and they got 1.800 simoleons.

That was their third day in Dragon Valley. Rohan decided to make some money using his magical abilities.

However, sometimes, it didn't work well...

Glenn was focused on his chores. He learned handiness, sculpting and took care of Artemis. He ended the day by the river, trying to learn how to fish by himself.

Fenris had gone to the local gym before joining Rohan at the Art Museum for some Sculpting classes. They created the same thing.

At night, Fenris spent some time with their mare.

While Rohan spent some time at the museum getting to know an elven maiden called Majella Shanahan.

"I can't believe! You're a Sagittarius and I'm a Libra! That's a great combitation... Let's eat something. I can't stand that baby crying."

They had dinner at the Bistro and finished the night at a local louge called Dragon Tavern. Fenris decided to have a drink there, too.

While Rohan was talking to Majella, Fenris went outside and stole a bench. The darkness helped him to hide his act.

Rohan bought a drink for Majella. She was a very nice gal and he was much more interested in taking her to a more comfortable place. Unfortunately, their house didn't offer a place for that.

Majella was single, of course. However, it was difficult for her to say if it was the drink or Rohan's charms.

Rohan stole something that night as well.
